Improve your kerb appeal

Improve your curb appeal

Spending time on the renovation of your home is something that takes place in every household. However, whilst re-decorating the inside of your home is commonplace, improving how your house looks from the street is something that doesn’t happen so often. It can be quite difficult to plan, but there are many methods and options available to those who want to make their house stand out from the rest.

Painting

Giving your doors and frames a fresh coat of paint, although subtle, can really improve the appearance of your household. Having faded or peeling paint can severely age your house, so ensuring that the paint is topped up every once in a while can keep your home looking pristine and modern. Choosing a colour scheme that will make your home stand out from the others on your street without being too over the top can be difficult, but if you find the right mix of these elements, you’ll notice a world of difference.

Planting

A way of adding colour and life to the front of your home is to bed plants in your driveway. If you feel that your driveway perhaps is a bit bland, a carefully placed flower bed can add that little bit extra to it. By breaking up the large areas of concrete or paving that your driveway may consist of, it makes the front of your house a little more interesting. If you’re lacking inspiration, try contacting a garden design and landscaping company, they should be able to help you find a balance between a functional driveway and attractive front garden.

Improving your Driveway

The look of your driveway is key to the appearance of your home in general. If your home is beautifully presented and managed, a bland or unkempt driveway can detract from the hard work done to the house itself. There are many different options for your driveway, so you can tailor it to suit the overall look and feel of your home. If you have a concrete driveway, you can transform any wear and tear by applying a coat of black paint to it.  If you’d like to transform your driveway completely, block paving is available in many different styles. Improve your curb appeal

Lighting

Adding some lighting to the front of your house can vastly improve the appearance and feel of your home. It can add to a house that may need some work, or it can accentuate some work that’s already been done. There is a range of subtle, contemporary and traditional lighting available that, if placed carefully, can really make your home stand out from the rest, especially in the winter months when it gets dark early.

Even though people may only look at your house for a passing moment, ensuring that it looks as good as it can will really make you stand out from the other houses on your road. It needn’t be an excessively costly process, and a few well-planned, subtle changes will yield a great deal of improvement!
